aka: agricultural panels, r-panel or pole barn roofing. 36″ wide panels with exposed washer head screws. These panels are normally 29 gauge, but are available in 26 gauge as well. We install horizontal purlins attached to the rafters and install the panels to these to provide a good substrate for the screws. This system is great in certain applications, but isn’t a lifetime metal like the others. The main crutch is the exposed screw. It has a rubber washer that will go out, usually not for 15-20 years. Luckily, if the roof is installed correctly, changing the screws will provide another 15-20 years of reliable service. This is the most affordable of the metal roofs, but still more than asphalt shingles in most cases
Metal panels ranging from 12″ to 18″ wide, 24 or 26 gauge. The panel is fastened loosely on the side, allowing the panel to “float” from a single tight attachment point. We hem the metal over the bottom drip edge and other details which protects against wind uplift and moisture. This is a lifetime roofing system, and if installed correctly will have minimal maintenance. The paint warranty is 45 years. We have a great selection of tools that help us effectively install this system. If your thinking about going solar, this is a great system that can actually save you on solar installation costs!
Stone Coated Steel Shingles look great, offer a long life, and they are more durable than other types of metal! Stone Coated Steel Shingles are a 26 gauge chunk of steel that has been stamped into the form of a shingle, wood shake, or tile. They add a corrosion resistant coating on both sides and then bake on the acrylic coated granules. This is the best shingle available because it’s lightweight yet very durable, having the highest hail resistance available, it’s energy efficient and recyclable, and has a 50 year warranty. With a variety of looks it can drastically change your curb appeal, plus any variety will raise a home’s value. Selling your home in 10-20 years? This is a roof that will still look great, increase the visibility of your home on the market, and have a lot of life left in it.
Aluminum panels that lock together to form a great roofing system. This system is expensive but it will continue to perform well beyond 100 years if installed correctly. This picture isn’t ours, as we don’t push this system due to expense, and it’s easier to damage than a stone coated steel shingle. We can also get aluminum standing seam panels.
A Stone Coated Steel Roof is a semi-permanent solution that will last a lifetime. This product has been tested in nearly every climate condition on earth. At the core of every panel is a 26 gauge recycled steel core that is covered with Zinc-Aluminum alloys that prevent corrosion. Next, the steel roofing panels are flood-coated with a special acrylic polymer resin that provides a base layer for setting the Quartz Earth Stone granules. The Quartz granules are manufactured with a UV reflective coating provided by the 3M Corporation. The stone covered panels are then placed in ovens and baked until the desired bond is reached. Finally an acrylic glaze is applied to the finished product. Original installations from 1957 are still effective, proving that they’re a great value.
Qualifies for discount on most insurance premiums. Highest hail rating possible.
vered for 50 years, transferable for the first 20. If your thinking of selling your home in the next 10-20 years, this product will still be looking great, whereas an asphalt shingle will be another bargaining chip for the buyer. It will stand out in the real estate market and a transferable warranty will be attractive to buyers, plus it increases the value of your home.
120mph wind warranted, rated for much higher. Metal roofs are known for having ice & snow avalanches destroying gutters and endangering people. These have a rough surface which holds a snow load as opposed to smooth metal which allows “avalanches.”
Your attic temps WILL be lower compared to asphalt shingles, and some homeowners could save several hundred dollars every summer depending on the configuration. Great for houses with vaulted ceilings. Ask us for more information on the “double batten” system.
These have been installed since 1957. They are huge in other parts of our country and overseas. Our area really needs to catch up in the sustainable roofing market and quit wasting materials.
Ten year installation guarantee by a name you can trust: Clover Roofing.
This product has many desired profiles & colors. They will remain looking good while your neighbors asphalt shingles fade, crack, curl, and get replaced multiple times. They are warranted against excessive granule loss and can be refinished if something were to happen to them later in life. Algae doesn’t feed on these like they do on asphalt shingles, but some will occur eventually. They are easily cleaned.
Stone coated steel shingles weigh less than half as much as asphalt shingles.
No, many customers report a reduction in energy costs during summer and winter months. Also, a DECRA roof can be installed over an existing roof, providing additional insulation from temperature extremes.

Very well. A metal roof usually weighs half as much as a typical composition shingle roof. Why is that beneficial during an earthquake? A full discussion is available in our case study covering the NextGen Home 2009. (link to NextGen Home 2009 case study)

No. Many customers report a reduction in energy costs during summer and winter months. Also, a DECRA roof can be installed over an existing roof, which creates even more insulation from temperature extremes.
DECRA roof offers more value for your money. With a minimum 50 year life expectancy, you would have to purchase and install 2-1/2 shingle roofs for the cost of one DECRA roof. Like most products you buy, “you get what you pay for.” A DECRA roof offers more for your money. Itís no bargain to put two roofs on your house because the first one was “cheaper” and subsequently failed. A DECRA roof can last a lifetime. DECRA is also quite durable because the aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel enhances the superior weathering and corrosion resistance of each roofing panel.
The best in the industry. DECRA Roofing Systems carry a Limited Lifetime Warrantyincluding 120 mph winds, hail penetration for any size hail and manufacturing defects – including excessive granule loss. In addition, material and labor are covered for the first 20 years after that time, material is covered the remaining warranty period.
Well, we’ve given quite a few reasons, but the best reason is our success in the industry. As the original stone coated steel manufacturer, our products have been proven around the world in more than 120 countries since 1957. (link to Roofing Contractor Magazine article)
Yes, the water run-off from our products meets the World Health Organization Standards testing. However, rainwater is variable across regions; atmospheric conditions should be considered in actual use. Water collected during the first or second rain fall after extended dry periods can be contaminated by dirt accumulation.
We use only 3M granules and they do have a small amount of mineral oil on them. However, the miniscule amount does not interfere with the adhesion of our basecoat, and does not affect water run-off.
Deterioration of the coating takes place when there is exposed, uncovered basecoat; granule size- smaller or larger- does not ensure better coverage.
No, DECRA’s product profiles and attractive ceramic stone granules do not resemble the standing seam roofs of the commercial industry; they add value and curb appeal to any roofing installation.
